How a physio program can enhance your recovery

Recovering from injury or managing ongoing pain can be a lengthy and exhausting process. You need discipline and proper support to stay motivated and get the results you dream of. But how do you find that accountability and structure you need to stay on track and achieve your goals? Enter our group physiotherapy program.

While a physiotherapist can treat immediate aches and provide some relief in the clinic, it’s up to you to continue rehabilitating on your own.

But we all know how hard it can be to form new healthy habits and stick to a program when left to our own devices.

There are so many reasons why people struggle to stick to a new exercise habit. Maybe it’s too difficult, you don’t enjoy it, or you have too many other things going on. Or maybe you beat yourself up after you skip a day or two. We get it. We’ve been there too.

That’s why we created an 8-week group physiotherapy program.

We designed this to help our clients build consistency and momentum into their recovery plan because enthusiasm and motivation can only take you so far.

The American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) did a study on accountability and found that you have a 65% of completing a goal if you commit to someone. And if you have a specific accountability appointment with a person you’ve committed, you will increase your chance of success by up to 95%.¹

By committing to a program with a start and end date, you are far more likely to complete it and get the results you dream of (hello ease, mobility, and pain-free living!).

Our group physiotherapy program runs for eight consecutive weeks to support you as you take action and progress towards your goals. Each week you can choose to attend 1, 2 or 3 group classes per week with a highly trained and qualified physiotherapist.

This program keeps you accountable and makes working out far more fun. You also have the support from our team to guide you every step of the way. You’ll be amazed at what your body will achieve with this extra focus.

After your 8-weeks are complete, we will reevaluate your progress and goals. You may continue with another round of the group physio program, move into our open reformer pilates classes, or return to other exercises you love. This will depend on your overall goals.

Why did we make the program eight weeks long? On average, it takes more than 2 months before a new behaviour becomes automatic — 66 days to be exact². So it’s the perfect length of time to form new healthy habits and keep you inspired to chase those goals.

Here’s some incredible success stories from our past group physio clients:

Meet Michelle, whose journey with TWB has transformed her from battling chronic hip pain to enjoying the strongest, most vibrant years of her life. Here’s her story:

I’ve dealt with chronic hip pain and weakness since I was 13, walking up and down stairs used to cause significant pain. Finding relief seemed nearly impossible. I had tried various strengthening routines including the gym (which I hated) and yoga, but none gave me the motivation to continue or delivered the results I’d hoped for. So I decided to give Pilates a try.

The studio at TWB immediately felt friendly, relaxing, and comfortable. As a physiotherapist myself, I already had a good understanding of my body, but the team at TWB has deepened my awareness significantly, always offering up-to-date knowledge and expertise.

Now at 63, my hip is the strongest it’s been since I was a teenager, and I’ve successfully rehabilitated from additional surgeries with the help of TWB’s skilled physios. Climbing stairs now causes very little discomfort compared to the agony I used to experience with every step. I make it a priority to attend three sessions a week to maintain my strength and enjoy a pain-free life. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the guidance and support of the team at TWB.

Meet Emma, whose transformational journey at TWB reshaped her life after battling debilitating pain from Endometriosis. Here's her story:

I suffered debilitating pain from Endometriosis, even after my laparoscopic surgery to remove it, the pain was still there which was very confusing and disheartening. My GP recommended I see a pelvic floor physio, and I had always wanted to try Pilates again.

Meeting Danni and starting the group physio program at TWB was absolutely life-changing. I was nervous about joining as I wasn’t sure how my body would cope with exercise given the pain I was experiencing. However, the environment at TWB was so calming and inviting that my fears quickly disappeared. The team is beyond kind—it’s honestly unheard of to find so many caring people in one place. They exceeded all my expectations, making me feel at ease and completely comfortable.

Physically and mentally, my life has improved in ways I couldn’t have imagined. I joke that my weekly classes at TWB have become my therapy.  I remember initially struggling through exercises like the Scooter with shakes and pain, and now I’m doing exercises I never thought possible. I see continual improvement in my strength and mental clarity.

Even on my worst days, I leave feeling more energised and in touch with my body. I’ve learned to listen and respond to what my body needs, adjusting my program as necessary during each class, which is incredibly important. I adore the team and am so thankful for them every day.

These stories highlight the transformative power of personalised care and a supportive community.
